THE SUN, THE SIN & THE SHAME

Hello everyone, A belated Happy New Year to you, guys. I know it's been a while but I am definitely trying to do better. I am working on a novella, THE SUN, THE SIN & THE SHAME, which I hope will be released sometime this year Will definitely keep you posted. I intend to follow that title up with several pieces in the same series. The book is about what happens when a wife ignores her husband, leaving him alone in a hotel suite while she goes out and parties with a bunch of unknowns. Well, hubby goes ou too, not intending to do anything other than have a meal, shoot a game or two of pool and go back to the suite. That was until he encounters the beautiful young vixen, Sophia, who totally captivates him and turns his world upside down. Got some work done today

Managed to sort out some work for new scripts and threw out a lot of old stuff. Also, I went to my brother and sister in law's home today and helped her. She is having problems with her legs and I just wanted to do what I could for her, my brother and their little grand son. I pray that God will strengthen my sister in law and our family and continue to bless us with His grace and mercy. Will be writing and organizing material for new novels

Hello All, Will be visiting a sick family member today. We had a terrible scare yesterday and spent hours at the local hospital. Hoping all will be well soon. Later this afternoon and this evening, I will be going thru folders of material I have for many novels I hope to write, God's willing. First Thanksgiving & Christmas without Mama

Hello all, This is my fourth blog since losing Mama. My mother, Mrs. Ruby Dix left us to be with the Lord and my dad on June 13, 2012. That was the most devastating day of my life and this is my first time writing about it. About a week before Mama left us, my sister and I took Mama to Myrtle Beach and tho Mama had Alzheimer's disease, we could tell she enjoyed the trip there and back and the days when we were in the hotel. We stayed at a nice hotel on the 6th floor overlooking the ocean. Each morning we opened the drapes and the door and propped Mama up on pillows in the Murphy bed. The three of us never did make it to the bed rooms. My sister slept on the sofa and Mama and I sleep in the Murphy bed and enjoyed the breezes coming off the ocean. Everytime we looked at Mama, she would turn her head away from the ocean,look at us and smile. It appeared that enjoyment registered in her eyes. The one thing we did know for sure was that everything about Myrtle Beach and the stay appeared to agree with Mama. When we got Mama ready for bed at night, she would sleep throughout the night only to wake when we did so to take care of her. After which she would go right back to sleep. I am so glad my sister and I decided on that week to vacation with Mama because we will never get that physical chance to do so again. It was so special, so great. On the way to the beach, everytime I would take a curve a little to fast or hit a bump, Mama would open her eyes, look out the window and then look at me. A few times we could hear her utter, uuuum. She was just to funny, some of the things she did. We are experiencing a number of firsts as most people do. This was our first Thanksgiving and Christmas without Mama and all I can say is we are grateful that God brought us through it. This was the first Christmas that we didn't have Christmas dinner at Mama's house in all the days of my life. My siblings had dinner in their home. I left my home on Christmas morning and drove to ATL to spend time with her and her family. It was bitter/sweet. I am just so glad that God allowed us to have Mama, her care of us and our care of her for that time we had each other and I know that God has Mama in His arms now and she is in wonderful care. I don't know where we would be if we didn't believe that Mama was with God and our Daddy. We thank You, Lord. Thank you for reading this blog and blessings to you always. Sumter County Library Book Fair

It's been a while since I have blogged but intend to do more of it. I participated in the Sumter County Library Book Fair today, Sat, Jan 26, from 3-5pm and it was great. I sold some books, gave out some info, spoke with some people, letting them know how I got started writing. It was Great. I had five books on display, but I talked about all eleven books that I have written. They are FROM MY FRONT PORCH and sequel, SINNERS NEVER SLEEP,(fiction) CHAMPAGNE DREAMS AND CHOCOLATE KISSES, (short romantic stories--not on display), 150 REASONS WHY I CAN'T SERVE ON JURY DUTY (humor--not on display) THE OAK TREES THAT TALK (four books, two of which were on display - Fall and Winter) and BELCHER, THE 10th REINDEER. i Also talked about my e-books, LOOKING FOR MR. TONIGHT and SATISFYING THE WOMAN IN ME. Satisfying The Woman In Me is soon to be released in paperback. I met some great authors, some of whom are my Facebook friends. It was a nice time and I learn some new things.

Happy New Year to you all and may your year be blessed with prosperity, good health and all things positive.

My dear friend and I went to Myrtle Beach on Friday and tho it is January, the sun was shining, the ocean was ebbing and flowing and it was the most beautiful and relaxing site. Afterwards, we ate at Ryan's and talked. It was such a wonderful day and I loved it. Got to do that more often.

Mama and Daddy's birthdays in August

Hello All,

Mama and Daddy had birthdays during the month of August along with a number of other family members. Mama's birthday was August 5 and Daddy's was August 15. Daddy passed away in 2004 but we still remember his birthday every year.

Mama's 6 month check-up was G R E A T

Hello All,

Hope you guys are well. We are fine here. Mama has her 6 month check-up on Monday and she is doing so well. We are all so grateful that Mama is doing so well. Her doctor said with all that she's been through the last 20 years, she is doing remarkably well and that we should keep up the good work. We will also keep trusting in the good Lord.

Sister from ATL visits Mama and I and she removed a shard of glass from my foot

Hello Everyone,

Just stopping in to say hello and hope that you all are well. Mama and I are doing well.

My sister from Atlanta came for a visit last week and Mama and I so enjoyed having her here. She did the most endearing thing for me. I had a small shard of glass in my foot that had been there for years. She saw that I was having problems with my foot. We got the peroxide, alcohol, tweezers, cotton balls, a towel and a needle. She had me to put my foot in her lap and she sterlized that needle, had me to put my feet in her lap and she was able to remove that piece of glass from my foot and I have not had a problem with that foot since that time. What a truly great sister she is and I was so grateful of the care she gave my foot.

Next Year's family Reunion in Myrtle Beach

Hello Guys,

It's been a minute since I last posted a blog. I have been spending a lot of time with Mama and have been jotting down ideas for books, short stories, etc.

My family just celebrated another wonderful family reunion a couple of weeks ago. Mama nor I attended this year but, God's willing, we will be in Myrtle Beach with the family next year.

I heard they had a wonderful banquet, including games, recognitions/accomplishments, fashion show and a talent show and I was told that it went extremely well.

Well not much to day this time but hopefully it won't be long before I will be out here communicating with you again soon. Much love to you all from Mama and I.

Most of the family is on a cruise to the Bahamas

Mama and I are pretty much on our own for the week because two of my brothers, their wives, my niece and her son drove to Florida on Saturday and boarded a cruise ship, destination Bahamas. We don't know where else they will stop in between. I know that a hurricane is brewing out there and I hope my family and all the others have safe travels.

I was sorry to hear today that Nick Ashford has died of throat cancer at age 70. RIP Mr. Ashford. I really loved the music he and Valerie Simpson made together and the wonderful songs they wrote for countless others.

Mama's Birthday is this week. She and I spent some time outside today

Hello All,

Just dropping in for a moment to say that after bathing and feeding Mama this morning, she and I spent a little time out on the front porch. Again, she enjoyed watching cars leaving and coming into the neighborhood.

When we returned into the house and I got her settled into her bed and gave her something to drink, I began to do some work on a manuscript, The Storm Within. It is a short story and the first draft is completed. Right now, I am just going over it and editing it some more. Tomorrow, I intend to get back on the Alzheimer's book.

Mama will be having a birthday on Friday. I don't know what we are going to do for her yet, but something special will definitely be planned.

My nephew left Monday night for Australia to perform with his group and we wish him and the guys well. Until next time, be blessed.
